Checking your partner's diaper is an important aspect of Diaper Discipline as it reinforces their position as dependent on you. The DD level you choose will directly affect how involved you need to be in checking but we recommend that no matter the level you try to do it as much as possible.
There are several ways to check your partner's diaper but it should always involve a physical interaction even if the check is prompted by a visual or odor queue.
If your partner’s diaper is already exposed (i.e they’re just in a diaper or diaper + t-shirt) checking is very easy so this clothing setup is recommended at home when the weather allows. You will likely be able to see if their diaper is wet just by looking at its bulk while many brands now also have visual wetness indicators.
Carry out the check by giving the front a squeeze or running your hand under the diaper and lifting it up using your palm. A heavily used diaper will have sagged and you’ll feel the weight as you lift it. Diapers shouldn’t be changed until they’ve been well used so make sure at least the front, crotch, and lower bum area are used before considering a change.
Checking for a messy diaper is easy, just run your hand down the back of their diaper and you’ll quickly find a lump if they’ve messed. Cup this against their bum or give them a small smack to confirm it which also provides a bit of light humiliation.
If your partner is wearing indoor clothes or a onesie you can ask them to stand up while you lower jeans/PJs, lift a skirt/dress or unbutton a onesie/romper before following the steps above.
When in public checking should be discreet yet still physical. Squeezing the front & back of their diaper through clothes will give you a rough idea and can be accompanied with embarrassing questions such as “do you need a change baby”, “how’s your diaper holding up” & “is that a messy diaper I smell”
