You may want your partner to move from being forced to wear diapers, to having to wear diapers as without them they’d wet/mess themselves. This is only applicable for couples undertaking DD 24/7.
Diaper training will require their full cooperation as your partner needs to give up their bladder and bowel control. To do this, they need to release at the slightest urge and no matter the situation.
First start by making sure they’re drinking at least 3 litres of water a day and significantly increase the fibre in their diet. This will mean they now need to pee more often and will have larger but consistent BM’s.
With diaper training underway you should now expect their diaper to always be wet. Check them after 15 minutes of a change and tell them off if it isn’t already wet. They need to get used to the idea of having their bladder constantly open and dibbling. Increase their fluid intake before bed and ask then to let go instantly if they wake up with the need, again tell them off if they wake up without a very wet diaper.
You also need to get them used to using their diapers without thinking about the consequences such as leaks. Purposely leave them in a full diaper and make them wet until it leaks, when it does tell them they’re a good boy/girl for not holding it and you’ll change them sooner next time. This will help remove the fear of leaking which leads to control.
The increased fibre should now mean they need to mess at a few times each day. A sign of control is a single large mess each day so you need to encourage them to never hold it in, at the sign of any pressure they should relax and fill their diaper.
The fear of being in a messy diaper in certain situations is a key factor in people retaining control so you should address this head on. Get them used to being messy for extended periods by not changing them immediately. Make sure they mess in lots of different situations especially when out of the house, do a day trip and say you expect them to be messy when you check them at lunch, etc. You can also use laxatives occasionally to increase urgency and train them to lose control. Tablet based laxatives such as ducolax in small doses randomly will mean some very full diapers. Punish them if you notice them resisting letting go at any point.
Overtime you should notice that they’re almost always dribbling into their diaper and are messy more than before. Great signs your on the right track are bedwetting where they wet their diaper at night without waking and small trickles of pee escaping while you change them or they got to a shower etc.
Be supportive and celebrate their lack of control with constant reassurance that they’ve been a good boy/girl when you find them in full diaper.
